Bill Henry

Bill Henry
From the vibrant bluegrass/acoustic folk scene in New England emerges Bill Henry. For over 20 years Bill was the lead singer/guitarist for the bluegrass/newgrass group Northern Lights until they disbanded in 2010. On this solo recording Bill gathers a powerful group of instrumentalists and singers and a satchel of perfectly suited songs to construct a diverse array of tracks.
On Red Sky Bill produces a masterpiece of acoustic sounds. From the Jimmy Buffet and James Taylor co-composition Sugar Trade, to the self-penned Fisherman's Lament, Bill sings with a punch that is confident and skilled.
Joining Bill Henry are heavyweights Sam Bush, Vassar Clements, Tim O'Brien, and singer Jonathan Edwards. Bill's acoustic guitar flat-picking style is filled with technical skill and conveys a mature tone. The entire project is acoustically adventurous, with piano, penny-whistle, and saxophone, but tethered with care to traditional roots and themes of the American heartland.
